Approach to Mental Skills Coaching

L. D. has a unique approach to mental skills coaching.  First, he works as a coach, not as a lecturer or instructor.  Instructors provide information and fix flaws.  Coaches, on the other hand, focus on the holistic development of the golfer.  L. D. observes his players in competition and, in addition to indoor sessions, he works with them on the golf course, the practice ground, and the practice putting green.  Poor performance almost always results from the brain hijacking what the body already knows how to do.  You measure performance by the ability to strike the golf ball.  So, it is essential to spend time watching the player compete and working with her with a club in her hand.

L. D. plays the game at a high level.  He also has competed successfully in college and at the state amateur level.  This deep knowledge of the game makes him uniquely suited to develop a golfer’s mental game.
